From the streets to a loving family

An organisation built on years of experience

Animal Rescue Georgia was founded in 2022 by Tinatin Kvaliashvili, but her work in animal welfare began much earlier — around 15 years ago.

What began as efforts to rescue individual animals developed over the years into organised work. This is how Animal Rescue Georgia came into being — an organisation whose main goal is to rescue, treat and rehabilitate homeless animals and find them loving families.

Rescuing animals in Georgia comes with many challenges. Financial resources are limited, veterinary care is not available in every region, and many animals are already in a serious condition by the time they need help.

Despite these challenges, we continue our work every day because we believe that every life is precious and every animal deserves to live in a safe environment.

The support of people who cannot stand by while animals suffer and are ready to play their part in saving them is especially important in this work.

Foster homes instead of large shelters

Our organisation does not have a shelter at all. Rescued animals live with foster families or in the home of the organisation's founder. Here, they receive food, veterinary care and proper attention. Most importantly, they have a peaceful environment and enough time to recover.
For us, rescuing an animal means more than simply taking them off the street. We care for each one throughout their treatment and rehabilitation, help them regain their trust in people and look for a family where they can live safely and be loved for the rest of their lives.
Every life is precious to us — regardless of an animal's age, breed, health or past.

Every life is precious, regardless of age, breed, health or past.

The journey to a new family

Before we find a rescued animal a new family, we take the time to understand their personality, health and needs. We choose a family for each animal with particular care, so that they can live in a safe and caring environment.

For adoptions abroad, we arrange all the necessary procedures: vaccinations, veterinary examinations, preparation of the required documents, compliance with the mandatory quarantine period and safe transport.

Many of the dogs and cats we have rescued have already found loving families, both in Georgia and in various European countries. This has been possible thanks to the help of volunteers, vets, foster carers, international partners and the people who have opened their homes to our animals.

Helping where we are needed most

Our work is not limited to looking after the animals directly in our care. We help many homeless dogs and cats in different regions of Georgia. We provide food, the veterinary care they need, vaccinations and neutering.

In two regions of Georgia, our organisation's founder, Tinatin Kvaliashvili, carried out large-scale neutering campaigns together with the Facebook page "Tatebi", during which almost 1,000 animals were neutered. The programme included both homeless and owned dogs and cats.

We believe that addressing the root causes of the problem is one of the most important aspects of animal welfare. Neutering helps reduce uncontrolled breeding and prevents future suffering for many animals.

Rescuing animals from the streets alone will not solve the problem. Prevention, raising public awareness and encouraging a responsible attitude towards animals are essential.

Our goal for the future

Our dream is to create an animal rescue, rehabilitation and adoption centre — a safe space where rescued animals can receive the treatment they need, recover and prepare for life with a new family.

This will not be a shelter where animals spend their entire lives. Our goal is for the centre to become a stepping stone between the streets and a loving family.

How you can help

  • By making a financial donation — to cover the costs of treatment, paid foster care, food and transport;

  • By fostering a rescued animal;

  • By adopting a dog or cat;

  • By becoming a flight volunteer
  • By sharing our rescued animals' stories and photos.

Sometimes, sharing just one photo is enough to help an animal find their future family. Be their hero
