Animal Rescue Georgia is an independent animal welfare organisation in Georgia.

We rescue abandoned, injured, sick and abused animals, provide their medical care and rehabilitation, and look for safe, loving homes for them.

We believe no animal should suffer just because it was born on the street, grew old or sick, or was let down by people.

From rescue to a new home

A rescue does not end on the street. It begins there.

  1. An emaciated brindle dog standing in a car park
    01

    Street

Abandoned, injured, hungry. This is where almost every story we tell begins.

  2. A helper holds a dachshund on the treatment table
    02

    Clinic

Examination, treatment, surgery, vaccination and neutering.

  3. A foster mother with two rescued dogs in the garden
    03

    Foster home

Food, affection and time to learn to trust again.

  4. A dog in a transport box at the airport
    04

    Journey

Vaccinations, examinations, documents, waiting periods and safe transport.

  5. Two children sitting in the sand with a rescued setter

A new chapter full of safety and hope.

Behind every rescued animal there is a story. Our goal is to give it a new chapter full of safety and hope.

Our story

Founded in 2022. Begun some 15 years ago.

Animal Rescue Georgia was founded in 2022 by Tinatin Kvaliashvili. Her personal commitment to animals, however, began around 15 years earlier.

No big shelter. A home for the time being.

Our organisation does not run a large shelter. Rescued animals live with private foster families or in the founder's own home. There they receive food, medical care, affection and time to recover.

Trust takes time.

For us, a rescue does not end with taking an animal off the street. We accompany it through treatment and rehabilitation, help it regain trust and look for a permanent home.

Every life is precious.

Our principle: every life is precious, regardless of age, breed, health or past.

What became possible together.

Many of the dogs and cats we have rescued have found families in Georgia and in various European countries. This is made possible by volunteers, vets, foster families, international partners and adopters.

The situation in Georgia

Taking an animal off the street is not yet a rescue if it is then exposed to suffering, disease or mortal danger again.

In October 2026 we visited the municipal shelter in Gori. What we saw there was among the most harrowing experiences of our many years of work.

Found as a tiny puppy in the grass. Today with his family in Europe.

All animals in our adoption programme will appear here in future, continuously updated from Georgia.

Our vision

A rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming centre

StreetNew home

Our long-term goal is a Rescue & Rehoming Centre: a safe place where rescued animals receive medical care, recover, build trust and are prepared for their future home.

We do not believe that the future of animal welfare in Georgia lies only in building more and more permanent shelters. We need a system that strengthens neutering, responsible pet ownership, volunteering, foster care and adoption.

This centre is not meant to be a place for lifelong housing but a bridge between the street and a new home. At the same time we want to expand international cooperation and transparent adoption processes.

How you can help

Become part of their new future

Behind every rescued animal there are people who care for its life and its future. But no one can manage this task alone.

Sometimes a single shared photo is enough for an animal to find its family. We are looking for people who understand that adopting means taking responsibility for an animal's whole life.

  • Fund treatment or food

Every donation goes to vets, medicine and food.

  • Offer a foster home

A home for the time being, until the animal finds its family.

  • Adopt an animal

Take responsibility for an animal's whole life.

  • Support safe transport

So that the journey home goes well.

  • Share our stories

Sometimes a single shared photo is enough.

We cannot save every animal. But together we can change the whole world for those we reach.
